"All Day" Hours in Cirkus
You can now configure the default hours for your team, and your day Bookings will span only those hours, instead of 24 hours.
You set these hours at Workspace level.
You can optionally override the Workspace setting, and configure for individual Members or Resources.
Note: Scheduling Bookings which respect these hours is only available when scheduling on the Mac and iOS apps, coming soon to the web at cirkus.com. However web users will see the correct scheduled hours on their Schedule.
Note: These hours apply when you make an “All Day” booking, or a booking that spans multiple days. You can still override the specific hours at a zoom level where hours can be selected.
Let’s take a look
Setting up "All Day Hours"
For All your Team and Resources
- Click on Workspaces in the left menu.
- Select your Workspace name, and open the Info tab.
- In the Schedule Defaults section select the enable the All Day Hours setting, and select the hours to apply.
This setting means that any booking which is an “All Day” booking will only be for the hours selected, and not for 24 hours.
For Individual Members of your Team
By default, the hours for each Member is taken from the Workspace if set, but you can override this per Member or Resource.,
- Click on Workspaces in the left menu.
- Select your Workspace name, and open the Team, and then Members list.
- Double click on the Member you want to edit.
- In the sheet, go to the All Day Hours field.
Select “Custom” and fill in the hours you want to use.
This setting means that any booking which is an “All Day” booking will only really book the hours specified for that Member
For Individual Resources in your Workspace
By default, the hours for each Resource is taken from the Workspace if set, but you can override this per Resource.
- Click on Workspaces in the left menu.
- Select your Workspace name, and go to the Resources tab.
- Select the Resource you want to edit.
- In the Inspector, go to the All Day Hours field.
By default the value is taken from the Workspace, and you will need to select “Custom” from the drop down, and fill in the hours you want to use.
This setting means that any booking which is an “All Day” booking will only really book the hours specified for that Resource.
Making "All Day" Bookings
If you have setup the “All Day Hours” value for your workspace or members, it will apply to full day bookings, or multi-day bookings.
You can still select the specific hours if you are at a zoom level where hours can be selected.
Example 1: All day bookings book the whole 24 hours.
– No Workspace or Member “All Day hours” are set.
Example 2: All team and resources work 09:00-18.00
– Workspace “All Day Hours” are enabled, and set to 09:00 – 18:00.
Example 3: Most of the team work 09:00-18.00, but Jim only works mornings.
– Workspace “All Day Hours” are enabled, and set to 09:00 – 18:00, and Jim has a custom setting where his All Day Hours are set to 09.00-13.00.
Example 4: Explicitly book Jim for a longer day.
– Workspace and member hours are set, but by zooming in to day view, or a zoom level where the hours are selectable, you can schedule this.
